8 Day Independent Program
This tour focuses on the most important sites of England and Scotland and includes city tours in London, visits to Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, the Roman town of Bath, Edinburgh’s Castle, Glasgow and the beautiful Scottish highlands of Inverness.
ITINERARY
DAY 1 – LONDON
Upon arrival to London airport you will be met and transferred by private car to your hotel located in the city center. The remainder of the day and evening are at your leisure to explore the city on your own.
DAY 2 – LONDON
Breakfast will be served at the hotel. This morning you will join a city sightseeing tour including such highlights as Parliament Square, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, the changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace and more. The afternoon you are free to visit one of the many famous art museums or churches at your leisure.
DAY 3: LONDON – WINDSOR CASTLE– STONEHEDGE – BATH — LONDON
Following breakfast at the hotel, today you will be picked up at your hotel for a full day excursion to come of England’s well known sites. First stop is Windsor Castle home of the Royal Family for 900 years and still the official residence of the Queen. Then continue to the Georgian City if Bath for a panoramic tour including Bath Abbey, the Royal Crescent, the Circus, Assembly Rooms and the famous Pulteney Bridge and Roman Baths which have been supplying thermal springs for over 2000 years. Last stop is Stonehenge to see the ancient circle of stones left from prehistoric times and their meaning is still clouded in mystery. Return to London in time for dinner on your own.
DAY 4 – LONDON — EDINBURGH
Breakfast will be at the hotel prior to check out. You will be picked up at your hotel and transferred by private car to the railway station in time to board your train to Edinburgh. Upon arrival to Edinburgh you will transfer on your own to your selected hotel and check in for a 2 night stay. This afternoon you will join a walking tour Secrets of the Royal Mile including the Edinburgh Castle which is steeped in history and mystery.
DAY 5 – EDINBURGH –GLASGOW — EDINBURGH
Breakfast will be served at the hotel. Today you will join a guided excursion to Glasgow to tour cultural highlights such as art museums and Charles Rennie Mackintosh architecture. Return to Edinburgh in time for dinner and overnight.
DAY 6 – EDINBURGH — INVERNESS
Breakfast will be served at the hotel prior to check out. Transfer on your own to the Edinburgh railway station in time to board your train to Inverness located in the Scottish highlands. Upon arrival to Inverness you will be met and transferred by private car to your hotel where you will check in for a 2 night stay. This afternoon join an afternoon tour by motor coach and boat cruise to the famous Loch Ness with a 1 hour tour of Urquhart Castle and a visit to Loch Ness center.
DAY 7 – INVERNESS
Breakfast will be served at the hotel. Today is at your leisure to further explore the city on your own. Inverness is a thriving city with a rich variety of Gothic structures and many historic buildings in the Old Town that can be appreciated while browsing city shops. There is a great selection of places to eat and drink with peaceful areas close to the city center for relaxing. The city itself is small, compact and easy to get around.
DAY 8 – INVERNESS — USA
Time permitting breakfast will be served at the hotel prior to check out. You will be transferred by private car to the Inverness airport in time to catch your flight home.
