Itinerary

DAY 1 — - ROME
After you touch down at Rome air­port, meet your dri­ver for a pri­vate trans­fer to the hotel. Check in and then enjoy the city at your leisure. Overnight.

DAY 2 — ROME, ASSISI,SIENA, FIRENZE
Departure at 07.15 from the hotel Diana by a deluxe coach we’ll arrive to Assisi. Arrival and free time at dis­pos­al to vis­it this tiny town, sur­round­ed by ancient Middle Ages walls. Free time is avail­able to vis­it the Basilica of St. Francis with the mas­ter­pieces of Giotto and to have lunch (not includ­ed). Continue to Siena, the medieval town and Piazza del Campo, the town square, famous for host­ing the Palio horse race. Then we’ll reach our des­ti­na­tion: Florence. Arrival. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.

DAY 3 — FLORENCE (PISA OPTIONAL)
Breakfast. Visit of this beau­ti­ful city where the Italian genius for art reached its pin­na­cle. Visit Santa Maria del Fiore known as The Duomo with its mag­nif­i­cent dome built by Filippo Brunelleschi, the Campanile tow­er (part­ly designed by Giotto) and the Baptistery with the gold­en bronze doors called the “Gates of Paradise” by Michelangelo him­self. See also Piazza del­la Signoria, Palazzo del­la Signoria and the Santa Croce Basilica. The  after­noon is free or you can join an option­al tour to Pisa to see the Leaning Tower. Dinner and overnight stay in Florence.

DAY 4 — FLORENCE, BOLOGNA, PADOVA, VENICE
Breakfast. In the morn­ing depar­ture to Bologna the city enriched by ele­gant and exten­sive (38 kms) arcades (or por­ti­cos).  See Indipendenza Street, Neptune Square, King Renzo Palace, the Podestà Palace and the basil­i­ca of San Petronio, one of the biggest in the world. In the after­noon we will con­tin­ue towards Padova, with its orig­i­nal Sant’ Antonio Basilica. In the evening, arrival in Venice, world famous for its gon­do­la (clas­sic Venetian boat) and for its ele­gant and refined art. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.

DAY 5 — VENICE
Breakfast. Transfer by motor­ized water bus­es (vaporet­ti) to St Mark Square. We’ll vis­it: St. Mark Square, and the Doge’s Palace (exter­nal), sym­bol of the glo­ry and the author­i­ty of Venice as it once housed  the res­i­dence of the Dukes, the seat of gov­ern­ment, and the Court of Justice. Nearby you will see the leg­endary Bridge of Sighs before stop­ping at a Murano glass fac­to­ry. Afternoon is at leisure. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 6 ‑VENICE, REGION OF CHIANTI — MONTEPULCIANO /TUSCANY, ROME
Breakfast and depar­ture by motor coach from Piazzale Roma to the famous Region of Chianti in Tuscany. Chianti is a vast geo­graph­ic area from the hilly land­scape placed between Siena and Florence. In this area there is the biggest pro­duc­tion of wine. The most famous is the Chianti Classico, made with the white and the deep red grapes. Then, we’ll stop at Montepulciano, famous for its wine, the Brunello (famous red wine), it is pos­si­ble to pur­chase it in the enote­ca of the town. Montepulciano is also the host of an annu­al Jazz and Wine fes­ti­val every July. Spend the after­noon explor­ing at your own pace, you may wish to taste some of the local wine. In the evening, arrival to Rome. Overnight is at the hotel.

DAY 7 — ROME
Breakfast at the Hotel. Departure from the Hotel approx­i­mate­ly 8:00 am to vis­it by foot this famous city and its artis­tic beau­ties among which: St. Peter’s Square, Piazza Navona, the Pantheon (vis­it inside),  Trevi Fountain, and the Spanish Steps. Afternoon is at leisure to fur­ther explore the city on your own. Return to the hotel and overnight in Rome.

DAY 8 — ROME / NAPLES / POMPEII / SORRENTO
Breakfast.  After leav­ing Rome at 7:00am, the coach will take the ” Sun Route ” motor­way, dri­ving through the regions of Lazio and Campania, with a view of the Abbey of Montecassino. Upon arrival in Naples there will be a short panoram­ic city tour: Mergellina, Castel dell’Ovo Plebiscito Square, the Royal Palace, the Maschio Angioino and the port. Lunch in a restau­rant on our way to Pompeii and then vis­it of the exca­va­tions of the famous Roman city, destroyed by the erup­tion of Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Leaving Pompeii and dri­ving along the Sorrentine coastal, arrival in Sorrento. Dinner and overnight in the Hotel.

DAY 9- SORRENTO
Breakfast at the Hotel. Free time for per­son­al activ­i­ties all day. The evening enjoy din­ner at the hotel and overnight in Sorrento.

DAY 10  — SORRENTO / CAPRI
After break­fast we board the boat for the Island of Capri, where, weath­er and sea con­di­tions per­mit­ting, we will vis­it the Blue Grotta (weath­er con­di­tions per­mit­ting) in small row­ing boats. Lunch in a restau­rant and free time for per­son­al activ­i­ties. In the after­noon, check in to your hotel for din­ner and overnight.

DAY 11  — CAPRI / ROME
Spend a leisure­ly morn­ing at your hotel and explor­ing Capri. In the after­noon depart for Rome, where you will check in to your hotel and overnight.

DAY 12 — ROME
Breakfast at the Hotel. You’ll be trans­ferred to the Rome air­port in time to board your flight back to the States.
End of services.
