European Travel Advisors’ most popular tour for the Independent traveler visiting Italy for the first time, it combines some scheduled sightseeing tours along with free time to venture and explore Italy’s most important cities on your own.
Itinerary
DAY 1 — USA / ROME
Depart USA by scheduled air service (airfare not included in package).
DAY 2 — ROME
Upon arrival at Rome’s Leonardo Da Vinci airport, you will be met and transferred by private car to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure to begin to explore the Eternal City on your own.
DAY 3 — ROME
Following breakfast at your hotel you will be picked up for your city sightseeing tour including such highlights as the Piazza della Repubblica, the famed Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Spanish Steps and the magnificent Piazza Navona, . The afternoon is at leisure for shopping or visiting various museums and churches.
DAY 4 — ROME AT LEISURE
Following breakfast, enjoy a full day at leisure or choose one of our optional day tours or excursions.
DAY 5 — ROME / FLORENCE
Following breakfast at the hotel, board your train to Florence. Upon arrival in Florence, check in at your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore this Renaissance City on your own.
DAY 6 — FLORENCE
Breakfast at the hotel followed by a morning city sightseeing tour including Piazzale Michelangelo, the Cathedral, Giotto’s Bell Tower, the Baptistery and the Fine Arts Academy. The afternoon and evening are at leisure to shop along the Ponte Vecchio or visit the famed Uffizi Gallery.
DAY 7 — FLORENCE / VENICE
Following breakfast at your hotel, board your train to Venice. Upon arrival in Venice, check in at your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore this city of canals on your own.
DAY 8 — VENICE
Breakfast at the hotel is followed by a morning walking tour of Venice including the famous St. Marks Square, the Golden Basilica, Doge’s Palace, the Bridge of Sighs and a visit to a glass factory in Venice. The rest of the day and evening are at leisure.
DAY 9 — VENICE / USA
After breakfast, transfer on your own to the airport (optional transfer service is available) for your return flight to the USA.
