Itinerary
DAY 1 — USA / ZURICH
Departure from USA by scheduled air service (airfare not included in package).
DAY 2 — LAUSANNE
Arrival to Zürich and board your train to Lausanne. Upon arrival transfer to your selected hotel and this evening enjoy a welcome dinner to sample some of the local cuisine.
DAY 3 — LAUSANNE
This morning enjoy a walking tour in Lausanne (May 1‑September 30) including the famous 13th century gothic Cathedral. In the afternoon enjoy an independent visit of the Museum Fondation de L’Hermitage, a museum with changing exhibitions.
DAY 4 — GENEVA / YVOIRE / EVIAN , FRANCE
Board your train to Geneva where you will enjoy a private guided walking tour of this International cosmopolitan city. Board a romantic boat to the French side of the Leman Lake, and then enjoy a walk at your rhythm along the streets of the medieval town Yvoire. Lunch on your own and then board another boat (or bus during the low season) to Evian where you will have your time at leisure before boarding the last boat back to Lausanne.
DAY 5 — LAUSANNE / MARTIGNY
Today the full day is at leisure. We suggest boarding the train to Martigny and visiting the heritage of the Romans in this town and the Giannada Museum with its prestigious painting collections. From here, you can board your train back to Aigle and take a short walk in town to visit the Castle and its Wine Museum. Transfer back by train to Lausanne at your leisure.
DAY 6 — LAUSANNE / DIJON, FRANCE (OPTIONAL EXTENSION TO PARIS ON REQUEST)
This morning board a train to Dijon for a city tour in this charming French town. Following lunch, you will enjoy a wine tasting in the heart of this world-renowned wine-growing region. In the evening, take the train back to Lausanne.
DAY 7 — FRIBOURG
At your leisure, board a train to Fribourg, (about 50 minutes). You will have time for lunch on your own and then visit one of the most magnificent old towns of Switzerland with a private local guide. Following the tour you will have some free time to shop or browse. Board the train back to Lausanne for your farewell night in Switzerland.
DAY 8 — LAUSANNE / ZURICH/ USA
Board your train for the Zurich airport in time for your flight back to USA.
