Itinerary
DAY 1 — USA / LUGANO
Departure from USA to Lugano by scheduled services (airfare not included in package).
DAY 2 — LUGANO
Upon arrival in Lugano, you will transfer on your own to the hotel in Lugano. Check into your hotel with the remainder of the day and evening at leisure to explore on your own. We suggest a stroll along the lakeside promenade and the historical center.
DAY 3 — LUGANO
Following breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a day on Lake Lugano, exploring the small and picturesque villages such as Gandria and Morcote. Join a two hour scheduled morning walking tour of Lugano. Following the tour, you might explore some restaurants along the lake for a sample of the local cuisine. The remainder of the day and evening are at your leisure for shopping or exploring on your own. (Walking tour is an added bonus operating only between March-October).
DAY 4 — LUGANO/ ASCONA
Transfer on your own to the Lugano train station in time to board your train for Locarno. Upon arrival transfer on your own to Ascona and check into your hotel. The remainder of the day and evening are free for you to explore on your own.
DAY 5 — ASCONA
Following breakfast at your hotel, you will have a full day to explore Ascona, an exclusive resort nestled on a sunny bay of Lake Maggiore. You might explore the 16th century church of Pietro e Paolo, or tour the nearby area of Centovalli (100 valleys), a hiker’s paradise filled with waterfalls, chestnut groves, vineyards and sleepy villages.
DAY 6 — ASCONA / COMO
Following breakfast at the hotel, transfer on your own to the Locarno train station in time to board your train for Como, Italy. Benvenuto to Italia! Upon arrival, check into your hotel and begin exploring on your own.
DAY 7 — COMO
Following breakfast at the hotel, you will enjoy a full day at leisure. We suggest a visit to some of the posh villas and stately gardens that Como is famous for.
DAY 8 — COMO/MILAN/ USA
This morning you will be transferred by private car to the Milan airport in time for your departure flight home.
